FSU UPDATE: Miami 16, Wake Forest 10

For FSU fans, this is Christmas come early — for now. Wake Forest had to lose today, coupled with a Florida State win to have the Seminoles back in control of their destiny in a bid to reach the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game. If Florida State is to hold up its end of the bargain today, the ‘Noles must do two primary things.

TAME TYROD: Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor shredded the Seminoles’ defense and was the difference during a fourth-quarter rally. He was supposed to be red-shirted this season, but now he’s back. It’s both good and bad. The bad? Taylor could have another huge game against FSU. The good? Contain Taylor and the game is pretty much won.

WIN TURNOVER BATTLE: Virginia Tech leads the country in turnover margin, and the Seminoles have had their chances to create turnovers, but for whatever reason (dropped interceptions during the first two games against Western Carolina and Chattanooga?) that number isn’t as high as Noles coach Bobby Bowden would like. Create some early turnovers today, force Taylor to throw instead of running and this day and the Noles can hop on ol’ Renegade and ride into the Tallahassee sunset.

Will have more updates (including those on ex-Lee star D’Vontrey Richardson) as the game goes
