AUBURN: the aftermath — continued
Could things get any worse on the Plains? After the Tigers lost, 34-17, against West Virginia, ESPN SEC blogger Chris Low wrote that coach Tommy Tuberville’s future at Auburn is even more uncertain. How ironic that Auburn’s defense succumbed to another team that runs the — dare we say on the Plains — a spread offense? Isn’t trying the spread offense how Auburn got in trouble in the first place? And against West Virginia’s defense, could the Tigers be coming back to its running attack? It seemed Auburn ran less of its spread offense than usual although Tuberville insists that the spread is there to stay. Click here.
You can just sense it. this team is in turmoil. If you think the “jetgate” fiasco in 2003 was bad when an attempt to remove Tuberville was thwarted, what could happen in the next few weeks could make that look tame.
Tuberville might want to start weighing his options. Auburn fans — and more importantly, boosters and trustees — are surely weighing theirs.
